march presidency message

“The gospel, said President Gordon B. Hinckley (1910 – 2008), ‘is a plan of freedom that gives discipline to appetite and direction to behavior.’ This plan puts us on a path of increasing knowledge and capacity, increasing grace and light. It is the freedom to become what you can and ought to be. But for your freedom to be complete, you must be willing to give away all your sins (Alma 22:18), your willfulness, your cherished but unsound habits, perhaps even some good things that interfere with what God sees is essential for you.” (by Elder D. Todd Christofferson – Ensign, March 2013)
Sisters, it is my prayer that we will all heed this counsel; that we will first fix ourselves and then reach out to others. I know that my sisters have great heart and a great capacity to reach out and positively influence others. In order to fully engage in the good works that the Lord would have us do, we must first be strong ourselves. You must “give away all your sins” and trust in the Lord’s promise that as we submit to God, that “His arm, His power, will be revealed in (our) lives.”
Thank-you for all the good works that you do – thank-you for you!
